As part of our Key Pack Training on Boosting and Attracting Greater Attendance I was doing a conference call.  We were discussing putting stickers on your invitations- the VALUE and HUGE impact they can have.  (Be sure and READ or LISTEN to the training mentioned above.)

During this discussion,  I was suggesting using the PSA3203 Bring a Friend ADDRESS -30 PRINTABLE STICKERS to PRINT their host information and then just sticking it onto the postcard invitations your companies offer.  She said, “That’s a wonderful idea, but there is not enough room as I often include my website, or the address is a little, long, etc.!”

As I was developing this idea and the products to go with it, I originally created the Key 3 slogans like “Bring a Friend,” “You’re invited to a girl’s night out,” “Bring 2 friends receive Free Shipping,” and “Earn extra Tickets for our Door Prize!”

Then, I got to thinking, why not have slogans for Booking and Recruiting that you could use instead so you can mix it up?

You can put the BIG sticker with the host info to encourage booking, recruiting or bringing a friend, then use the smaller stickers on other parts of your invitation or even on the other side or the envelope!

So, I went to work and created 22 different slogans in the Business Card size format!

NOTE:  We have printed the GRAPHIC and BORDER onto the sticker with a high quality LASER printer in our office.  The sticker material we use has a MATTE finish so you should be able to run it through YOUR OWN ink jet or laser printer to print your information in the blank space.  However, we make NO GUARANTEE and suggest you check your printer instructions.  We haven’t had any troubles with customers running these through their printers, but we MUST post this disclaimer!

REMEMBER, this saves you HOURS of writing and time as you are sticking TWO messages at once.  Once you set up your own TEMPLATE, just open it and type new host info and save it.  The same template matches most ALL of our BC size (10 up) Printable (PS) designs.

How can having an “Auction Party” increase attendance and sales?

When you let your customers know they can earn extra auction $$$ by helping you, they will invite their friends and help get outside orders!.

How can you encourage your invited guests to help you?
Put these “Auction Stickers” (S30445) on your invitations. They tell your guests to earn extra $$$ they can:

  1. Bring their invitation! (When guests decide to do this they will put their invitation in a place they will remember.   Then they can look at it to be reminded of the dates, etc.)
  2. Bring a adult guest. (When they invite a friend to attend the party with them, you will have TWO committed guests instead of ONE “maybe” guest.)
  3. Bring outside orders (This encourages guests to talk to their friends and mention that they are going to the party, if the friend can’t come, they can still offer to place an order for them.)

How would you do an Auction Party?

1.    First, you would tell your guests that you are having an auction at the end of the party. Their goal is to earn Auction Money. Use the V6127 — Auction Money Recruit CASH. (The bills are all $100 value. It makes it WAY easier than making change and the auction takes less time because the bid in $100 increments.)  Besides, it doesn’t matter because you get all the bills back at the end of the party to use the next time!  So you can give out TONS of cash for anything and everything!

2.    Make a lasting impression by also using the “Recruiting Dollars” (V6658).   They say “Short on cash?   I can help turn this into REAL money.   Call me today!” on the front of a $100 bill.   Be sure to put YOUR name and number on the back.   (Use the printable sticker “Could you use an extra $100 a week” on the back printed with your contact information.”   I’ll tell you WHY to include these $100 bills in your auction money below.

3.    Tell them that you had special instructions on your invitations to receive extra Auction $$ and reward those who did as you asked at that time. Then tell them that they can earn money by being involved in your party.   Here are some examples:

  • Give them $100 each time them make a suggestion of how they have used one of your products or why they like something you offer.
  • Ask questions about what they would receive as a hostess and give $100 bills to those who offer correct answers.
  • Ask questions about what your company offers if they were to join your team and reward those who know the answers with $100 bills.
  • Tell them that if they book a party, they will receive $1000 in Auction money.   Offer $2000 to the FIRST person to book a party.
  • Tell them that whoever makes an appointment to learn about your opportunity will receive $2000 in auction money.   (Or whatever increments you choose)

Use your imagination and come up with as many ways as you can think of to give Auction Money! This keeps your guests involved in your party and having fun!

4.    At the end of the party, show them the prizes (if you didn’t show them at the beginning) and have your auction. You may want to put numbers on each item and randomly pull a number to decide what you will auction off first.   You may want to keep the gifts as a surprise. Give different things a try and see what works for you.

What does it cost you do offer Auction Parties?

Remember the ABCD formula: A Success Formula?

If the B for Benefit is Greater Than the C for COST   then D- do it!

Your cost to offer Auction parties is the cost of the stickers ($1.99 or less for 48 stickers) and the cost of the gifts. Usually, your company offers items that you get at very reasonable prices that you can use as gifts. You gifts will probably cost less than $5.00. You only have a one time expense on the Money you use, because you get it back during every auction.

Let’s do the math:

  • if just ONE extra guest comes and places a $40 order,
  • and ONE person brings a friend (two committed guests spending $40 each)
  • and ONE person brings a $40 outside order

that would be a total of $160 in additional orders.  

If your profit is 25% you would have made an additional $40!   The cost was $7 so your PROFIT would be $33.

What if you only made HALF that amount, you would have STILL made $13 more than you would have. But, what if you were to DOUBLE those sales? Your cost of $7 would remain the same but your profit would be $73!
Can’t you see the benefit in giving this a try?

What are the other benefits of doing an auction?

You’ll keep track of those who know your products.   You’ll find out who accumulated the most money.   This would probably be a prime person to talk to about your opportunity.   People will choose to book parties and make opportunity appointments to earn the auction money.   Using these techniques keeps people interested and paying attention to what you are asking.   It keeps them focused on YOU instead of chit chatting with each other. When you add these benefits to the increased sales, you can really see how offering Auction Parties can make a BIG increase in your profit!

WHY use the “Recruiting Dollars” as some of your auction money?   At the end of the auction, give them each one of the recruiting dollars back and say, “Keep this in your wallet, and when you come to my next auction party you’ll already have $100 to start the game!   Plus, in the meantime if you are low on cash and need to turn this into REAL money, give me a call, my name and number are on the back!

Isn’t this great?   Who do you think they will think of every time they look at that $100 bill in their wallet?   This is better than a TV commercial because your name and the products you offer will become so familiar to them!

P.S.   Some of you want to tell your customers specifically how much extra money they will receive for bringing friends, etc. Print the details on our printable sticker borders!   It’s fast and easy!

Boosting Attendance boosts your sales because it is much easier to sell to a live person.  Using some of these stickers on every invitation sparks interest and creates the “I have to go to this!” attitude.  By encouraging guests to bring friends it can have a HUGE impact on your overall business!  You never know what just one sticker can do!  Be sure to take advantage of every opportunity to meet new people!

KEY 3: Boost Attendance!
 In the party plan business normally the more people you can get to your party, the greater your sales will be, the more bookings you will get, and the greater chance to get recruits.  It is so much easier to show the benefits of your products and company to a live person than over the phone to someone you’ve never met.  So, that is why increasing attendance is so important!  Here are some ideas to help you in this “key area”:

1.  Use stickers to help them realize it is an invitation
People get so much junk mail that if they don’t realize it’s important, they may throw it away or set it aside.  When you use the “Here’s your invitation” (PR31039) or “You’re invited to a party” (S30456) stickers , it catches their attention and they look to see what they’ve been invited to as soon as they receive it. 

2.  Make the party sound fun, like a “Night Out”
Use stickers to change the perception of a party from something that is an obligation to something that is fun and well deserved.  Use the “Come enjoy a night out!  You deserve it!” stickers (S30397) to help them realize that attending the party would be a fun break for them.  Your guests will be excited and it will bring a new dimension to your parties! 
 You can also use the “Invited to or Come to Girls Night Out” stickers (S30242 or S30554) and postcards (PP30283C or PP30283CT) as invitations to remind your guests of the fun of a night out!  This postcard also comes in a PRINTABLE format so you can print anything you’d like on it, or it comes with text and you just fill in your party information.  You can mail these as an invitation and slip them inside a preview type catalog that your company offers.  If your company already offers a postcard type invitation, use the stickers.

3.  Use stickers to encourage guests to bring friends!
The “Bring a friend and receive a free gift” type of stickers are the most popular stickers we offer because they make you money immediately (and it is easy to track!)   A guest can be motivated to bring a friend for other reasons as well.  (See Key 3 stickers in our catalog or online for more.)  It is amazing what these stickers can do when put on your invitations.  Some guests will feel more comfortable and be more likely to come when they can bring a friend.  Besides, when a guest brings friends you then have two or three EXCITED guests.   Once she invites a friend it becomes a social event and she’s committed to coming!
 Consider the benefits.  How much do you make when just ONE person brings a friend and that friend spends $40?  At a 25% commission you would make $10!  It costs on average just 50¢ to put the sticker on 25 invitations.  Is it worth the 50¢ investment for a $10 return?
 How much greater is the return when these “friends” broaden your customer base and book parties in new areas?  This can start a chain reaction with an entirely new group of parties with entirely new contacts!  What if you meet your next recruit at one of these parties?  Is it worth the 50¢ investment for each party?  It is 100% guaranteed you will MISS the opportunities you don’t take!

Save yourself some time! 

Type  your hostess information then  print ONTO our “Bring a Friend” Printable Sticker!  Then just stick this sticker on your invitation and you’ll be putting TWO messages at the same time!

4.  Get your parties started on time! 
 The “On time drawing” stickers  (S33058 or included on the COMBO SSK3) sheet can do so much for you.  In addition to getting your parties started on time, they also make an impression on your guests.  It makes them look at the invitation further and put the date and time into their memory. 
 I had an “open house” party once, and just for the heck of it I put an “On time drawing” sticker on it.  I had 7 people show up at the beginning, several more mentioned they were trying to get there for the drawing!  It was incredible!  When you use the “On time drawing” stickers, put a time that is a little unusual, like 6:28 or 6:58.  This has the added benefit of catching their attention so they’ll remember it because it is different.  Then, be sure to have the drawing at the time you stated!
 Having “On Time Drawing” stickers on hand can also help you avoid postponements.  Say a host calls you once she’s received her confirmation postcard to say she realized there was a PTA meeting that night and a lot of her friends would be attending that event.  You can SAVE that night’s booking by responding, “How about if we keep your party short and sweet!  Let’s start ON TIME (you’ll of course use the stickers) and we can finish the party in time for you to go to the meeting together!”  All you need to do is put that sticker on your invitations and you’re working again instead of trying to fill in that night!

5.   Encourage guests to keep their invitations where they can find them.
 Use the “You’re a Winner” stickers (PR30113) on every invitation.   Your guests will put their invitations in safe places so they can find them and bring them to the party to see if they have won!  So many times we think we know what day or what time is on the invitation, but we forget.  When your guests want to double check, they will know right where their invitation is.  Have a basket of prizes they can choose from.  It could even be a percentage or dollar off their order.  Make it something affordable to you.  Keep in mind that if it is a % off their order, they have to order to take advantage of it. 

(HINT:  Purchase the 5% OFF or $1.00 etc OFF stickers and take them to your parties.  Then when people are the winner or arrive on time just put the sticker on their order form as a reminder to both you and them!  Plus they need to place an order to get their prize!) 

 We also have “Lucky winner number match” sticker (PR30112A) that comes with preprinted numbers so you pick a number from those used on the invitations and they come to the party to see if it matches.   (We also have it where you could fill in the space with your own numbers.  Available as a mini-rectangle PR30112B or circle PR30112C.

6.  Ask guests to RSVP so hosts feel good & you can be prepared
 Use the “RSVP please” (S30275 or included on the COMBO SSK3) stickers to let you know how many people to plan on, and to reassure your host that her guests will show  up!
 Overcome objections by offering to use these for hosts that say,   
“I don’t have time to make the calls!”  Assure them that the RSVP stickers will get their guests calling them!

7.  Have an “Auction or Drawing Party”
 Drawings or Auction Parties are essentially the same- the difference being they earn TICKETS for drawings or Auction money to buy prizes at the end of the party both BEFORE and DURING the party.  This encourages guests to help your hostesses and themselves to get more prizes.  By using the “Auction Party” stickers (S30445) or “Drawing” stickers on your invitations you’ll create interest and they’ll become involved in helping you which will get more people coming to the party.

 During the party have lots of ways they can earn “Auction Money or Recruit Cash” (V6127) or other cash (See VARIETY products or MONEY online) or TICKETS  when they arrive and have brought their invitation, an adult guest or outside order.  During the party give away additional cash or tickets when they answer questions, give ideas, testimonials, etc.  This keeps your guests involved.

 Then at the end of the party have small prizes to auction off or draw tickets for!  It’s fun and keeps people involved both before and during the party.

8.  Use “FLAP TALK” to give information and entice customers to open the envelope!
 “Flap Talk” occurs when a sticker that promotes interest, create curiosity or gives information is used to seal the flap on an envelope.  When people go to open their mail, you have their undivided attention for just a second.  This is a great place to put the stickers that let them know the things they can learn or the special offers they’ll receive if they attend the party.
 Use the these stickers or others that are not included in this key pack such as “New catalog” (S33122), and “Please pay with order — some credit cards accepted” (S40398) or “Monthly Specials” (S40489).  Other company specific stickers  such as “Come crop and shop” (S30367), “Keep the Spark in your marriage (S40563) “Let me help you sparkle” (S40574) and “Bring a friend receive a free tealight” (PR30562A or B) are also great for this! 
 Many people like to attend open houses because they can see what is on sale, visit with their friends for a few minutes, make their purchase, and be on their way without it taking all night.  Use the “You’re invited to an open house” sticker (S32144) (This is your FREE gift in this pack!)  We also have postcards. 10.  Mini Catalogs?
 Does your company provide “mini” catalogs you either use as invitations or just give to people?  If so you’ll want to use the sticker “More impressive in person” (S43478) to entice people to actually see it for themselves. 
It is also great on invitations from your company that show just a few of your products.  You can also use “Only part of our line is shown in this catalog.”  (PR31022) on your mini catalogs!

11.  Theme Parties?
 Theme parties entice guests to come because they don’t want to miss the fun!  A favorite “Theme” party is a “Bingo” party.  Use our “It’s a Bingo Party!  Come Play!” (S32214) stickers on your invitations.

 Then I ask: How many people come?   (Average was 8 — but customers who regularly use Booster products average was 12!)

 I then ask:  How many are NOT learning that you have opportunities?   I can see the lights go on when people realize that 22 people they are sending invitations to are not getting the opportunity to learn that they could earn FREE products or a great income.

WHY should you put 4 stickers on every invitation?

I’ve done this training at conference many times.  Let me share with you what happens…

Most times I ask this question, people laugh and say, “Jenny, you want to make money!” and I reply, “Well, yes when you purchase stickers I do make money, but what is MORE IMPORTANT is that YOU make EVEN MORE money!”

First I ask: How many invitations do you send to a party?   (The average is usually 30)

Then I ask: How many people come?   (Average is 8 — but customers who regularly use Booster products average is 12!)

Then I ask: How many people are learning that you have both booking and recruiting opportunities to offer?   As people think about it they realize only the 8 attending the party or show are learning that they have opportunities!

I then ask: How many are NOT learning that you have opportunities?   I can see the lights go on when people realize that 22 people they are sending invitations to are not getting the opportunity to learn that they could earn FREE products or a great income.

 So, how do you solve this problem?

Does that make sense to you?   That if the Benefit is greater than the Cost to DO it?

Let’s do the math.   It COSTS an average of 50¢ to put a “Bring a friend, receive a free gift” type of sticker on 30 invitations. (Average cost for stickers is about 2¢ each)   If just ONE person brings ONE friend and that friend spends $40, how much do you make?   (With a 25% commission you would make $10.)

So, is the BENEFIT of $10 worth spending 50¢?   If it is, you should DO IT!

Then think of the additional benefits of:

  1. TWO friends coming to the party
  2. the original guest coming because she could bring a friend (or she wouldn’t have come) and she spends $40+
  3. or one of those friends booking a show and starting a party chain in a new neighborhood.
  4. You meet your next new recruit in that new part chain.
  5. The list of possibilities goes on and on!

I can’t guaranteed what WILL happen, but I can guarantee that you WILL MISS 100% of the opportunities you don’t take!

  • At this time of economic slowing can you afford to MISS someone who is looking to EARN free products and will be a hostess for you?
  • Can you afford to MISS that person who is looking for an extra income?
  •  Can you afford to MISS the person who would have come to the party and brought that friend?
  • What is the risk? $2.00 per party!
  • How much do you LOSE if you don’t give it a try? $10, $20, $50 or $100 in PROFIT per party? Bookings? New Recruits?
  • Every day you wait you’re losing opportunities!
  • Do you really want to see your business be more successful? Give it a try! ORDER TODAY!
  • Do you know where would your “Break Even” point be for this concept?
  • You would have to put “Bring a friend” stickers on invitations for 10 parties and ONLY ONE person bring a friend before you would begin to go in the hole!

In February I went and did a ‘New Start’ show. (A new team member coming into the business) When I was done and writing up orders a guest walked up and told me she had come with her mom because of the sticker that said her mom would get a free gift. This guest booked a show and asked me about my business.

I gave her a recruiting packet to go home and review. She called me 3 days later and signed up! She was so excited she did not even wait for her show she went out to my website and ordered in her starter case! That was in February.

She has continually been in the top 1 or 2 in sales in my Unit, and has even beat my Division manager in sales once or twice! OH and did I mention that the first thing she did was order her Jenny B stickers for her invitations! She knows the value!

Just think, if I had not put that sticker on that invitation she would not have come and I would have never signed up this great recruit!

You just never know what a sticker could do for you but, I can guarantee you that ONE sticker has paid for EVERY Jenny B item I have ever bought and then some! Thank you Jenny B! I would not be where I am today without you!

I have been in direct sales for 6yrs. I have been ordering stickers for a year now. My attendance has increased. I use the “You’re a winner” stickers and the guest always hands me there invites along with placing a order. I also wear the button “I love my job ask me why” I have picked up recurits every where I go. I have that button on and it never fails anyone that have contact with me ask why do you love your job. I have been in direct sales for 11 years, and I just started using stickers on my invitations on a REGULAR basis. At my last party in February, we had low attendance, even though the hostess and I did all the right coaching, etc. etc. But the party ended up at over $500 and one person joined. I truly believe that all the stickers on the invitation made a difference because when we made the reminder calls, people ‘remembered’ our invitation.

I love the booster stickers, because I can promote my business without even saying anything verbally, it’s all on the sticker. I have been with my direct sales company for 4 years and, after getting off to a GREAT start in 2006, I decided to track back through the years and see what progress I’ve made. I discovered that in previous years my highest January sales fell under $500 and my highest February sales were just over $800. In 2006, I had over $2600 for each of those months!!! I didn’t hold more shows, I simply had much higher attendance and a better prepared hostess!! I encourage everyone on my team to use those 4 stickers per invitation AND implement the Host Follow Up Erase board… they’ll make a HUGE difference.
